Lights, Camera, Action: Personal Development (SERIES)(DIRECTOR’S SCRIPT)

Director’s Script

I want to begin by saying  “Welcome and Thank You” for joining me for the new series  entitled “Lights, Camera, Action: Personal Development.” I am glad that you have decided to join us and  I hope that you will gain valuable knowledge that you can take with you during this series. “My goal will always be to bring value and inspiration to a thirsty spirit seeking self improvement.”

To all of our subscribers we want to thank you for subscribing. Please encourage others to do the same as we have exclusive news, content, offers and updates for our subscribers. If you have not already subscribed, I invite you to subscribe and follow along by entering your email address when prompted whenever you enter our website.

In this series, we want to discuss the importance of setting a plan for the foundation of your personal development. Once we have an awareness surrounding the importance then we can use those building blocks to shift your plan into actions towards committing to a life of personal development. I will seek to make you conscious of where you can improve in your personal life by looking at 3 distinguished sections in our series: First, Lights: You must be Ready; Pinpoint areas regularly where you can improve and set guidelines to help manage a plan for personal development. Secondly, Camera: You must be set; Set your stage by becoming conscious and prepare to set the foundation to build on personal development. Lastly, Action; Action is the time to act on that plan. Commit and discipline yourself by implementing your plan and sticking to it. Take Action towards personal development.

In order to build a sound plan for personal development you must have a plan. The same way that a director writes a masterful piece is the same way we must build a sound outline for personal development. We must promote a mindset of determination to seek our  development in areas where we want to see improvement. Secondly, we must take note and commit to goals that we want to achieve. On our quest towards personal development each goal should unify towards an ultimate vision. A pioneer has a vision for gold, and a pioneer does not find his treasure without a map. Step by step should provide a map towards the reward that you want to accomplish. The same goes for a director, if we look at the way a director writes his script then we notice that we cannot reach the happily ever after without going through each scene  to achieve the benefit of a happy ending.

A plan or a script requires your commitment. Your craft requires a willingness to be motivated to reach your goal. I want to challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror and make a decision today that you will stop free styling life and actually take the time to invest in yourself by developing a plan.  Les Brown, one of my favorite mentors, says “Most people spend more time working on their jobs than they spend working on themselves. They work harder on their jobs than they work on themselves.” I challenge you to take a close look at who or what you are investing your time and talents in.  While your occupation may be where your best gift lies; are you truly using your gift for your own personal development or someone else’s gift?

The beauty of planning is that it increases value. The value of reaching your goal with a plan in place outweighs  taking life on with no true direction. Your ability to think and put down your thoughts reveal what your inner spirit is trying to feed to you and assists you in placing a plan into place to create a foundation. A strong foundation relies on multiple layers of matter. Defining your thoughts and generating a plan based on those thoughts creates layers and layers to help build a strong foundation.  A strong foundation develops a process that breaks you free from having to rely on the simplicity of a weak foundation. A plan provides an inner response and desire to reach your reward which will free any negative emotions which may hinder you during the process. We find that we are more capable of achieving our goals when we have a plan in sight. We protect ourselves from fear, insecurity, and procrastination that stunts our plans manifestation when we have a plan in place. The ultimate warrior looks at a leaf and envisions food. The ultimate warrior looks at a stick and envisions fire. Be the ultimate warrior and use planning as a resource throughout the battle of personal development.

A director faces the challenge of producing a successful work piece. A director has to have a vision and a plan to take scene by scene in order to reach a strong ending. When a director looks at the vision that they are seeking to shoot for their project, he or she must accept that they cannot jump to the ending without fulfilling the center layers of their project. In order to do this, they take one scene at a time and master it piece by piece so that they can reach their happily ever after.

So are you ready (Que the Lights!)? Are you set (Team, get the cameras in place!)? Then let’s get started….The stage to perform is ready, the script is written, the audience has taken their seats with a big bag of buttery popcorn and a large Coca-Cola to wash it down…Let’s go out, let’s put on a show and let’s reach our happy ever after ending.

Lights, Camera, Action: Personal Development (SERIES)(INTRODUCTION)

The Introduction

“Let’s go out, let’s put on a show and let’s reach our happy ever after ending.”

I want to begin by saying  “Welcome and Thank You” for joining me for the new series  entitled “Lights, Camera, Action: Personal Development.” I am glad that you have decided to join us and  I hope that you will gain valuable knowledge that you can take with you during this series. “My goal will always be able to bring value and inspiration to a thirsty spirit seeking self improvement.”

Whether we are at a point in life where we are satisfied or maybe we are simply comfortable (you should never be satisfied nor comfortable), personal development is a continuous expedition. Whether we have discovered our gifts or we are still seeking our purpose, personal development is a continuous expedition. Whether we are at the point in life where life lessons have prepped us and now we are pivoting in every direction just digging in different sections to gain more out of lives; personal development is a continuous expedition.

Each of us is currently going through a phase. The phase of personal development. Some of us progress quicker in our journey towards personal development and some of us progress slower. Some of us lack certain traits on our expedition and some of us have a surplus of traits to assist in our development. However, no matter the route we choose or the abundance of resources we all should be in the same space. The space we are intertwined in is a space of understanding that personal development should never become an act that halts nor stops.

Personal development should be progressive towards becoming “The Best Version of Ourselves”. You need to understand that becoming the best version of yourself does not occur overnight. You should also never come to a stage in your life where you are satisfied or comfortable with yourself because there is always room for improvement. Your work and your development should never be complete until the universe determines your purpose has been fulfilled.

Director’s final call…3,2,1…Lights….Camera…. Action!

PUT IN EXTRA : THINK + WORK + EMOTION = INTELLIGENCE (SERIES PT.5) (SERIES FINALE)

The Power of the 3: Creating An Intelligent Individual pt.2

“Whenever we embrace the positivity in our emotions, then we can see a collaboration between the three  beginning to form.”

I want to begin by saying Thank You! Thank You! Thank you! Thank you all for staying with me over the course of this 5 part series entitled “Put in Extra: Think + Work + Emotion = Intelligence.” We have reached the finale and I hope that you have enjoyed this journey. If you have made it thus far I hope you have gained valuable knowledge that you can take with you. In the finale of the series, we will be discussing part two in regards to The Power of the 3. During this feature in we will discuss the power of combining our thinking, our work, and our emotions. When all 3 are in agreement, we become all that we have desired and our intelligence is reflected. As usual, I invite you to not only read, but also feel free to share your thoughts and comments as we continue on our journey towards understanding intelligence.

The key to unlock the hidden potential between the thinker and the worker lies within how you choose to use your emotions. How we choose to use our emotions determines how effective our thinking will be, which in return determines how productive our work will be. Whenever our emotions are in a positive or a negative space, our brain is trained to process the information and communicate an action. The information communicated from our brain, which is triggered by an emotion is going to produce either favorable or unfavorable actions in return.  This is why the art and the mastery of our emotions is so important. The art of our emotions creates the beauty between our thought process and our work. In the end we essentially conclude with a development called The Power of the 3.

We must closely monitor how much mental capacity we are using to store constructive emotions. Whenever we embrace the positivity in our emotions, then we can see a collaboration between the three  beginning to form. The type of collaboration that is forming embraces the positivity in our emotions where our mindset and thinking becomes strategic. The type of collaboration that is forming embraces the positivity in our emotions where our work begins to manifest ideas. The type of collaboration that is forming embraces the positivity in our emotions where our perception on thinking + working is more satisfying

When you get to a point where you are able to consistently strategize and work through your ideas that are rooted from constructive emotions, then you will be in a natural state where you can be most effective. Once your emotions are in an arrangement of comprehensible thinking and practical planning you are able to see the revolution from your strategy into direct results.

At this stage a change in perception becomes visible on the basis of THE POWER OF THE 3. Notice now, that we have empowered ourselves where we free ourselves from limitations in our thinking. We have empowered ourselves from limitations in our ability. It is all because we had a shift in power over our emotions…and now it’s time to dominate.  With the shift in power, we open new doors and dimensions in the way we think and the way we work. We no longer become stagnant, because we are now are able to recognize boundaries which we have allowed our emotions to unconsciously create. Instantly we are able to progress and bulldoze through those same boundaries. In these moments, nothing can stop us because we have the power over our emotions to consciously breakthrough any boundaries, obstacles or challenges standing n our way.

And In the end there is only one thing anybody can say about you…..

“Now that is what I call an Intelligent Individual!”

PUT IN EXTRA : THINK + WORK + EMOTION = INTELLIGENCE (SERIES PT. 4)

The Power of the 3: Creating an Intelligent Individual Pt.1

“Nevertheless, whenever we take all three; thinking, working, and our emotions and input them into an action; we maneuver at intelligent levels.”

Here we go again and thank you for joining me for part four of the series entitled “Put in Extra: Think + Work + Emotion = Intelligence. If you have not already begun following my blog I invite you to subscribe and follow along by clicking the “follow” button at the bottom of the screen. You also can subscribe to receive updates by entering your email address when prompted as you enter my website.

In this fourth installment of the series, we will be discussing The Power of the 3. This will be a two part series during this feature in which we discuss the power of combining our thinking, our work, and our emotions. When all 3 are in agreement, we become all that we have desired and our intelligence is reflected. As usual, I invite you to not only read, but also feel free to share your thoughts and comments as we continue on our journey towards understanding intelligence.

Take note from the previous posts in this series. If you only possess the intelligence gene and not the hard-working gene then you lack the above; The Power of the 3. If you only possess the hard-working gene and not the intelligence gene then you lack the above; The Power of the 3. Whenever you put the two together, you become more valuable and more profitable. Remember that when you are able to operate and function efficiently with your thoughts, work, and emotions then you provide value and profit through your actions.

Now that you understand the importance of The Power of the 3, you may be wondering; What is the actual ending result of The Power of the 3? Well I am here to enlighten you with the most powerful result of them all. Once you understand how to properly function between The Power of the 3, now you have become An Intelligent Individual.

How can we become well-rounded in order to create ourselves into an intelligent individual? How can we be well-rounded in order to create the most productive worker? How can we become well-rounded in order to create the emotional intelligence needed to produce efficient actions? We use all 3 together and find a balance to function at an elevated adequacy.

Sometimes the hardest working one in the room is not always the most productive. Individuals that are natural thinkers have an advantage compared to an individual who only knows how to work hard. The thinking individual exalts less energy to produce efficient results. An individual that works hard realizes that in order to get maximum results, they not only have to do more, but they must work smarter. Hard workers need to spend more time using strategic action in order to deliver results to counter. In the same instance, the thinkers in the room do not always have the most effective working strategy. Individuals that are hard workers by nature have an advantage compared to the thinkers in the room. The hardest working one in the room spends more time taking steps to accomplish their goal, The thinkers in the room realize that they must not only think smart, but they also must put their thinking into action. The thinkers need to find more efficient ways to put action to their ideas in order to counter.

Nevertheless, whenever we take all three; thinking, working and our emotions and input them into an action; we maneuver at intelligent levels.

PUT IN EXTRA : THINK + WORK + EMOTION = INTELLIGENCE (SERIES PT. 3)

The X-FACTOR: Recognition

“Our secret weapon or our X-Factor is ready. We have the ability to recognize triggers in our emotions and we are now at an advantage. At this stage, we are able to work, think and act more productively, which puts us in a state of intelligence. “

Thank you for joining me again for part three of the series entitled “Put in Extra: Think + Work + Emotion = Intelligence”. You can subscribe to receive updates as well by entering your email address when prompted as you enter my site, or by clicking the subscribe button above if viewing from a mobile device.

On this third segment of the series, we will be learning more about our X-Factor: Recognition. Recognizing our emotions can become one of our most powerful skills if we engage in analyzing ourselves closely. Once again, I invite you to not only read, but also to feel free to share your thoughts and comments as we continue this series.

Recognition is a huge factor in becoming more intelligent with our emotions. We must recognize the role our emotions play in order to operate and function to the best of our ability. Once we take the time to recognize our emotions, then we become intelligent in how we think, work and  react to certain circumstances more productively. At this point in the recognition phase we can analyze ourselves closer and become more aware and responsible for our actions.

Every decision we make is an opportunity to analyze ourselves and every opportunity we gain to analyze ourselves is a new opportunity to gain a new understanding of our emotions.

For example, I focus on always viewing myself as a brand. If we do a SWOT analysis on our brand then we can create a clearer picture. Ask yourself: What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? What opportunities develop during these moments? What threats are relevant? Whenever we are able to analyze ourselves similarly to a brand, then we can plan and function clearer. This is helpful towards identifying whether the emotions that we produce are consistently helping our journey to success.

Through emotional intelligence, we gain recognition skills that help to differentiate between our emotions. We learn how we respond with our emotions  through different actions and through different effects.

Psychologically these emotions occur during a natural response during the fight vs. flight responses in our bodies. In the fight response our bodies show emotions that stimulate from an attack mode response. During the flight response our bodies show emotions that stimulate through an escape mode response. Following either response, our body then goes to a state of relaxation because our warning responses have all been turned off. Whenever warning signs strike we can recognize the responses of our own emotions.

Our secret weapon or our X-Factor is ready. We have the ability to recognize triggers in our emotions and we are now at an advantage. At this stage, we are able to work, think and act more productively, which puts us in a state of intelligence.

Once we become emotionally intelligent then our thinking becomes more rewarding and our work becomes more valuable . When our emotions are in line then our effort in our tasks comes with a gain. We gain mental capacity, then our mental capacity provides more efficient effort in our tasks, which in turn equals more productivity.

So, why is that so important? Because our time is valuable. Have you ever heard the saying “time is money”? Productivity equals higher potential for profit. Our thoughts, our work and our effort are all intertwined with our emotions and when everything is functioning effectively we find more ways to produce profitable results.

PUT IN EXTRA : THINK + WORK + EMOTION = INTELLIGENCE (SERIES PT. 2)

Emotions vs. The Belief in Yourself as a Thinker vs. The Belief in Yourself as Doer

“Whenever we build on our emotional intelligence, we are able to operate at the top of our game. NO WORRIES, yes it is the 4th quarter, yes the clock is ticking, but when the ball is in my hand and the game is on the line…. I become MJ while the circumstance becomes the Utah Jazz in the 98′ Finals.”

Thank you for joining me for part two of the series entitled “Put in Extra: Think + Work + Emotion = Intelligence”. If you have not already begun following the blog updates, I invite you to follow along by entering your email address below and clicking the “follow” button.

During this portion of our series, we will be taking a closer look at our belief in ourselves as a thinker vs. our belief in ourselves as a doer. When we look at the two, it is essential to understand how the two are shaped around our emotions. Please take the time to not only read, but also feel free to share your thoughts as we continue this series.

We are all put in circumstances every day, which come with challenges. Every circumstance has a challenge and every challenge has a solution. “How well do you function when a challenge is presented?” It all depends on the person working behind the circumstance and it depends the approach they take regarding the specific challenge. You might be intelligent enough to figure out the solution, but a thinking individual only thinks. You might have the traits of a hard-worker and be able to work through a solution, but is the solution the most effective?  It takes a hard-working individual and an intelligent individual to reach the effective solution.

Critical Question: “Are you a thinker or are you a doer?”

At some point you have to get those hands dirty and put in a little extra work. At some point you have to stop acting and put your thinking cap on and think a little more before acting. Believing in yourself and your abilities takes faith to get through the tough circumstances. It takes belief, faith, and action to see the process to its end until you reach your breakthrough. Whenever a solution is not initially presented, in those moments we have to keep pushing and fighting through the obstacles. “Our ability to think and our ability to do will not always be enough; but do we quit when we can’t figure out the solution? Do we quit when our efforts are not producing results?” You have to be able to analyze situations to figure out the best way to work through them and you must be a critical thinker.

Under difficult circumstances, you cannot allow the situation to produce an effect that causes you to think nor act on stressful emotions. For example, projects and assignments with deadlines can cause problems in our performance. If our emotions are not in check, then we find ourselves making simple mistakes in our work and we can become forgetful in our thinking process. We must fine tune ourselves mentally, so that our most important tool, emotion, continues to function at a level that overcomes any situation.

So, as you build on your emotional intelligence you will find out that you have an ability to not only influence your actions, but you will also find out that this trait enables you to get tasks completed more effectively and more productively. This ability will influence the way that you think so that you are able to work smarter and think clearly through many critical situations. The emotional intelligence trait plays a major role in how we develop our actions and how we make our decisions to produce at our highest level.

PUT IN EXTRA : THINK + WORK + EMOTION = INTELLIGENCE (SERIES)

The Intelligent Thinker vs. The Intelligent Worker

“Ultimately if we take a closer look at the effort of the two individuals, then I believe we begin to perceive them differently.”

Since grade school, we always praise the smartest kids in the classroom. We praise the class clown that keeps everyone smiling and laughing. We praise the most popular and the coolest kids who have a social knack for influencing the crowd. Time after time, we find ways to praise those who influence us by nothing more than casual effort.

However, we missed the hard-working kids who deserve some praise as well. We never notice the kid who is struggling in his math class to make an “A” on his next test in order to raise his grade to the next level. We forgot about the kid who did all he could do to pull out that “C” in order to graduate. Instead we think those kids are lazy and lack the intelligence needed to make anything of themselves.

I think differently of those individuals who kept pushing and tried their hardest to PUT IN EXTRA EFFORT AND WORK to reach their accomplishments. I think the difference between the two is the level in which those individuals actually put in work. Ultimately if we take a closer look at the effort of the two individuals, then I believe we begin to perceive them differently.

Here are a few questions that I would like for you to ask yourself. How can we manage a balance between working too hard and spending too much time just being an intelligent thinker?  How hard are you willing to work at a task that comes difficult to you? How much time and effort are you willing to work to prove to yourself that you are capable of accomplishing a task that comes difficult to you?

The intelligent thinker stops acting when they get a sniff of failure. The intelligent worker stops thinking when the pressure begins to mount and they over exert themselves on tasks that could be completed more productively. The solutions are natural for both, because both see it as the easiest solution.

Becoming Your Best Version

How do we prepare to lay aside mediocre behaviors that produce mediocre results?

“Let us begin and analyze a few ways to become a better “YOU”.”

Each day we wake up, what is it that we are striving for? Are we striving to accomplish a goal? Are we striving to just make it through each day? Are we striving for absolutely nothing at all, except mediocrity?

Whatever it is that we are striving for; we must put our focus on doing our best. As we attempt to be our best and progress each day, we must continue to become better versions of ourselves. We must not only find ways for personal development and growth, but we must also be driven to take on challenges and face fears that hold us back from being our best. We must occupy our minds and act in a space with traits that bring out the best in us.

So today I challenge you to look in the mirror and ask yourself….“Am I going to do all I can to become the best version of myself today?”  Let us begin and analyze a few ways to become a better “YOU”.

1. Prepare, Commit, Become Discipline

“The only difference between these challenges is how well we prepared for them, and how well we produced through them. Were we committed to being productive or did we throw in the towel during our challenge?”

As we prepare to start our day, we must make a conscious effort to look at ourselves in the mirror and be determined to be better than we were yesterday. We should find ways to be more efficient and effective in all our daily tasks every day. We need to commit that we will be better than we were yesterday. We should be determined to build on yesterday and live more productively than we lived yesterday. Life does not come with tasks that are always easy to accomplish, in fact as the great Malcolm X said…The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This is the way we should approach our challenges as they arise. Preparation and commitment are the first steps to being our best each day. Preparation and commitment are what sets us apart from who we were yesterday. The smallest change such as making our bed before we leave the house could have the largest effect that leads to us becoming the best version of ourselves. We should not take these small tasks lightly, they could be the spark to the fire that lights our day towards our success.

We must prepare ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally for the challenges that will come our way. Each challenge will come and then each challenge will go. The only difference between these challenges is how well we prepared for them, and how well we produced through them. Were we committed to being productive or did we throw in the towel during our challenge?”

We must be prepared to fight and never let anything hold us back from what we are trying to accomplish. We must remind ourselves that we have been blessed with a skill set and with tools to handle whatever hindrances and weights in our lives that come pulling us down. Luke 12:48 reads “To whom much is given, much is required.” We have been given all we need to handle WHATEVER it is that will come and that will pass our way. We must be prepared first and then committed through this journey to deliver our best no matter the circumstance. Prepare, Commit and Become Discipline in your practice towards a life of being a better you.

2. Analyzation

“This will put us in a place of self analyzation. A place where we are facing the truth behind the only thing holding us back….ourselves…the person in the mirror.”

There are many ways to produce less today and still become a better version of ourselves. Self-analyzation is the key. The best way to being the best version of YOU is to continually build on the power of rich habits. We must remove the habits and actions that have helped us self-destruct and stripped us of the power instilled in us. We must stop dipping in actions that belittle us and block us from being our best. We cannot allow ourselves to become passive and absorb into bad habits. If we do not remove ourselves from these habits, then we risk becoming stuck in mediocrity.

Once we get to a stage of continuously building on habits to bring the best out of ourselves, then we must discipline our minds and flesh. During this time we are able to see the evidence of our growth. This will put us in a place of self analyzation. A place where we are facing the truth behind the only thing holding us back….ourselves…the person in the mirror.

3. Decodinand figuring out our Blueprint

“Once we have our blueprint then we put ourselves in a position to make habitual changes to fulfill our destiny and reach our full potential.”

Whenever we decode the structures and patterns that we have created that have slowed down our progress to becoming our best, then we can see growth. Until then we are rebuilding without a blueprint and limiting ourselves. At this stage all our work is misconstrued because we have not truly figured out the structure and patterns in our lives that we need to build on and the ones we need to eliminate. Once we have decoded those patterns and structures then we have our blueprint. Once we have our blueprint then we put ourselves in a position to make habitual changes to fulfill our destiny and reach our full potential.

Each one of us has greatness in us, but it is up to us to figure out the blueprint to what is working in our lives and what is slowing us down from our greatness. We owe it to ourselves to change direction starting today. Once we accept change, then we can finally eclipse our greatest issue…..The person we see in the mirror. Whenever we take the time to dig deep down inside and examine our spirit and gain that connection then we can mold ourselves to exhibit top-tier traits. Once we stop making excuses and trust the spirit in us and take initiative to change then we can see what truly is in store for us. We have become adept to believe that this is the best it is going to get for our lives. However, the spirit inside us has unlimited potential so once we no longer trust in the flesh then the realization is the best is yet to come. Once we take that next step, the greatness placed in us which has been there since day one can come out and it shines brighter each day. It becomes a part of us, it gives us access to the spirit and we can see what our creator has placed in us. .

What’s next? What can we take away from this message?

“This whole time we have been running the race of life in the wrong shoes. So take off those beat up kicks full of excuses and put on your running shoes. Lace up, these shoes were meant to run the race of life.”

We must line up in this race against life to be our best and break free from patterns that are slowing us down. We must hurdle over and through our obstacles in this race to get to our best. This is how we become our best from start and this is how we finish each day at our highest value by taking action. Our lives are our investment, becoming the best version of ourselves is our investment to become all we are worth. It is our responsibility to be the very best version our creator has created us to be. Yes, we will fall down jumping through the hurdles of life. Yes, it will hurt when we are fall flat on our face trying to become our best. However, we must get up and keep our eyes on the finish line. It is a long race, so a few slip ups and mistakes do not stop us from finishing strong. We take each lesson day by day and learn from them so that next time we can clear the next hurdle. This whole time we have been running the race of life in the wrong shoes. So take off those beat up kicks full of excuses and put on your running shoes. Lace up, these shoes were meant to run the race of life. Get on your mark, stare down your lane and close your eyes. Take a breath and tell yourself “Its time, the time has come to reach a point of full commitment.” Now open your eyes, the old you is no more. Today you take your first step to becoming a new “YOU”.

“Once we reach this point we are a natural force that has become limitless…..UNSTOPPABLE.”

“An UNSTOPPABLE force in your lane towards becoming the best version of “YOU”.”

The Journey Begins

As I begin this journey and build a high performing team around me, I ask not only for your support, but also your prayers and love as I venture into this important decision and next phase of my life.

Once again, thank you for your time. I look forward to keeping you updated throughout the journey ahead.

Sincerely,

Darrius Littleton
